When the recipient snaps the thin metal disk inside the gel-filled heart, the friction sets off a chemical reaction that turns the pliable gel into a solid warm heart. This Heart Warmer will stay warm for about an hour. After it cools, boil the Heart Warmer in water to return it to its original pliable state. You can then reuse it again and again! Not designed for microwave use.
