It does the job

I brought this product into work and had all my co-workers try it (there were about 20 of us).
My first disclaimer would have to be, I'm solely basing my review on the product itself and what it was designed to do. I had several co-workers saying that they wouldn't buy it because it doesn't give them that burnt marshmallow flavor that they associate with a campfire smores party. If you put your pyro-urges aside, you would notice that this product actually does what it was designed to do, pretty well.
I've tried making smores in the microwave before and the crackers would normally turn out dry, the chocolate wouldn't have melted all the way, but the marshmallow would have blown up before the chocolate could melt properly. THIS PRODUCT FIXES ALL OF THAT. In about 30 secs. I had a perfectly, evenly cooked smore.
I can definitely see the appeal that it might have for parents to use to give kids something to do. AND!! IT IS EASY TO CLEAN! I didn't have any encounterances with sticky, chocolately messes.
My other disclaimer would be that yes, I would recommend this product. This product would make a great gift for a family with kids or even for classroom use. However, I would not go and buy it for myself considering my own demographics (single, no kids).
